"Hush, Be Still!"

Jesus did not fear the storm, He rebuked it. And we must do the same!

Invincible Faith
In Mk. 4:37-41 it says, "And there arose a fierce gale of wind, and the waves were breaking over the boat so much so that the boat was already filling up. Jesus Himself was in the stern, asleep on the cushion and they woke Him and said to Him, 'Teacher, do You not care that we are perishing?' And He got up and rebuked the wind and said to the sea, 'Hush, be still.' And the wind died down and it became perfectly calm. And He said to them, 'Why are you afraid? Do you still have no faith?'"

Jesus spoke to the storm and said, "Hush, be still."and it obeyed Him. He commanded the storm to be still, knowing He had full authority to do so. But before He rebuked the winds and the sea, He rebuked His disciples saying, "Why are you afraid? Do you still have no faith?"

He rebuked His disciples for their lack of faith because they feared the storm instead of commanding it to stop. He asked them if they still had no faith because He desired them to grow in faith and walk in the authority He did.

In Mk. 4:30, Jesus showed us that even when our faith is as small as a mustard seed, we can sow that seed of faith and it will grow to become one of the largest plants in the garden, and the birds can find shelter in its branches. Jesus was determined that His disciples become men of faith and walk in His authority, because He wanted their faith to be a place of shelter and protection during the storms of life.

As we begin to use our faith, it grows and we become mighty men and women of God. Our faith is a great shield against the fiery darts of the enemy. Without it we are vulnerable to his attacks, but with it we are invincible

A Battle Cry!
The Lord is raising a battle cry against His enemies and He is calling His mighty warriors to come forth. He is developing our faith, and, at the same time, rebuking us for fearing the enemy. He is training His army to walk in the same authority He did. He wants us to speak out in faith and command the wind and seas to obey us.

The Church is seeing a tremendous increase in the attacks of the enemy, and it is easy to become overwhelmed by Satan's advances, and give up hope. However, we are also seeing an increase in the authority we have over the power of the wicked one (see Luke 9:1).

God sent us His Son to show us how He wants us to walk, and gave us authority to do as Jesus did. We have the same authority as Jesus, because "we are ambassadors for Christ" (2 Cor. 5:20). He spoke to the winds and waves and said, "Hush, be still." He didn't waste His time analyzing or fearing, He just commanded it to stop.

Authority Over the Wind and Sea
We have authority over the wind and sea, and in faith we must use our authority to halt the enemy's advance. He must not gain any more ground, tear up any more lives or destroy any more homes. It is time the church of Jesus Christ rises up and says "No more!" to the enemy. And, in faith, speak with aggressive authority to the storm and say, "Hush, be still! Enough is enough, NO MORE!"

Jesus' disciples begged Him to intervene in the midst of their struggle saying, "Teacher, do You not care that we are perishing?" But He wanted them to step out in faith and take authority over the storm they were enduring and rebuked them for fearing it.

Sometimes we get so caught up in enduring the storm, we forget that we have authority to stop it. We end up begging God to help us and whine when He doesn't. But God has given us authority over the powers of darkness and He wants us to fight.

He wants you to rise up in the boat when all hell seems to be breaking in on you, and command the storm to stop! He wants you to speak to the "storms" in your life and command them, in the name of Jesus, to stop.

Warriors of Heaven!
You are a warrior of heaven; arise and fight your enemy. See that even the wind and the seas will obey you! Think of the destruction the enemy is causing and the lives he is taking. The enemy has no right to attack you. If there is something that has come between you and God, be it sin, disobedience or anything else, remove that obstacle and then give the devil what he has coming to him. He has no right to touch a child of the Most High God - how dare he come against you. Command him right now to take his hands off you and to back off! Get mad and make him pay.

Remember as David said to Goliath in 1 Sam.17:45-46, "You come to me with a sword, a spear, and javelin, but I come to you in the name of the Lord of hosts." "This day the Lord will deliver you up into my hands, and I will strike you down and remove your head from you."

David had no fear because he came in the name of the Lord. Church, have no fear when you fight in His name! And you shall see the destruction of your enemy!

We must not fear our enemy, but stand in faith and declare him to be powerless in Jesus' name! Believe me saints, though he looks terrifying, his victory is contingent on our fearing him and he can be defeated when we rise in faith and command him to stop. He is no match for our God!

Please pray this with me:

Dear Father,
Please do what you need to do to make me a warrior of heaven. Forgive me for fearing my enemy instead of trusting in You! Help me to stay focus on You and Your power to save us! Help me to walk in the authority and power of heaven and radiate Jesus wherever I go!

In Jesus' name, Amen!
