"For the
mind set on the flesh is death, but the mind set on the Spirit is life and peace, because the mind set on the flesh is hostile towards God; for it does not subject itself to the law of God, for it is not even able to do so, and
those who are in the flesh cannot please God" Romans 8:6-7.
Today is the sixth day of the sixth month of the year 2006. Many are declaring today "the day of hell" or "the day of satan."
However, the number 6 represents the number of man in scripture and 666 is the number of man exalting itself as God. It is the number of mankind worshiping another man.
Don't get me wrong. I do believe that the world
will experience "the man of sin" or "the anti-christ," but I say, in many ways we have already experienced this. Mankind has always been looking for ways to "get around" God; to achieve in himself
what God alone can give.
We want to attain in the flesh what can only be accomplished through the Spirit. To accomplish anything in the flesh, even good, will always lead to death. Because there is only One Way to life and peace and that is in Jesus.
Pursuing God by our own way is not pursing God at all, for there is only one way to salvation and that is by accepting Christ's sacrifice on the cross for us. He is the only way.
God SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO loved us
that He did the unthinkable: He sent His most precious Son, JESUS, to die for us. He wanted us to be His children so bad that He sacrificed His "biological" Son, so that we might be adopted into His family. He loves
us that much, and even while we were sinners.
Jesus died for us even though we were bad. We were sinners and He died for us so that we could be made righteous; so, that we would be made into His image.
He is loving us into His image.
"For [we] have not received a spirit of slavery leading to fear again, but [we] have received a spirit of adoption as sons by which we cry out, 'Abba Father!'" (Romans 8:15).
And who will separate
us from the wonderful love of God? "Will tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?" (Romans 8:35). No, Jesus who died for us is committed to us, to seeing Himself birthed
in us. He saw Himself in you even before you knew Him. He called you and He is committed to you.
The enemy wants us to fear this day; he wants to try to lay claim to it as if it were made for him. However, this day, as
well as all the 365 days in this year, belong to our God. HE made it and they all belong to Him. And He has chosen to give this day to you for you to enjoy because He loves you so very much.
I think we should give this
day back to Him by praying 666 times for the lost, by winning 666 souls to the kingdom of heaven or rejoicing in our God 666 times more than what we would have ordinarily.
We all have a choice to make in how we live
everyday. I choose to give this day to Jesus and rejoice in Him. He deserves it.
If you do not know Jesus yet as your personal Savior, then make today a memorable day for God by giving Him your life!
